Phaniang Taek Temple is located in Map Khae Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Pathom District, Nakhon Pathom Province. It covers an area of 44 rai and was constructed around 1791.
Originally, the name ‘Wat Pathumkongkha’ was believed to come from Luang Pho Tha, who built the old chapel.
It wasn’t originally a name. The name ‘Wat Phaniang Taek‘ originated when Luang Pho Tha enjoyed playing with Phaniang fireworks at the temple’s annual festival. He put his hand over the mouth of the firecracker, preventing it from coming out of his mouth. So it exploded from the side. But he did not sustain any injuries while doing so. He wanted to make the hooligans afraid. They will be able to rule and train them to be good people., which is so, at the temple’s annual festival, I have never had to rely on the police. Because not a single bad event happened. Until the villagers nicknamed it “Luang Phor Phaniang Taek” and called the name of the temple “Luang Phor Phaniang Taek” and “Wat Phaniang Taek“.

His Majesty King Chulalongkorn, King Rama V, promoted him to the rank of Phrakhru Uttarakabadi (Deputy Abbot of Nakhon Chai Si), guarding Phra Pathom Chedi Tit.
